Shuffleboard

Game setup: To create your own DIY shuffleboard table, use a dry-erase marker or electrical tape/thin waterproof tape. You will need to create 3 lines as illustrated by the dotted lines for the 1 point zone, 2 point zone, and 3 point zone.

The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent by rolling your coasters past theirs into a higher score zone. A game can be played to 11 points, or to whatever predetermined score is agreed upon.

1.  Determine who rolls first: a coin toss, rock-paper-scissors, etc.

2. Starting from the same end of the table, Player A begins by rolling their first coaster. Player B t. Players alternate shots until all coasters have been rolled.  If a coaster does not cross mid-table line, the coaster should be removed, and the shot forfeited.

3. Once all coasters have been rolled, tally the score by counting only the ones closest to the end of the table that belong to the same player/team. If a player/team has more than one coaster closer to the end of the table than any of the other team’s coasters, they may also count those coasters.

The team or player that scores in that round must shoot first in the next. This process is repeated until one team reaches 11 (or other predetermined goal) points. Then rolls their first coaster. Players alternate shots until all coasters have been rolled.  If a coaster does not cross mid-table line, the coaster should be removed, and the shot forfeited.

Curling

Game setup: To create your own DIY curling table, use a dry-erase marker or electrical tape/thin waterproof tape. You will need to create 4 circles as illustrated by the dotted lines for the 2 end zones.

1. Divide into two teams and decide who will roll first (a coin toss, rock-paper-scissors, etc.). Each team picks two or more coasters, or in curling terms - “stones”.

2. Stand next to your opponent.  If in teams of two, you and one of your opponents will be at one end of the table, with your teammate and the other opponent at the other.

3. Whoever won first turn rolls their first stone down the "ice". The goal is to get your stone as close to the center of the circle as possible. The center of the circle is called the "button".

4. The other team then rolls their first stone towards the same button. The game rotates between the two players at the same end of the table until each player has rolled their stones.

5.  After all stones are rolled, whichever team’s coaster is closest to the button scores one point for every coaster closer to the button than the opposing team’s. Only stones within the "house" (the circles) can score points.

6. The turn now goes to the players on the other side of the table and continues the same as above.

7. Whichever team has the most points after 8 rounds wins.
